Coursework | Inst. Strategies| Rubric | Motivation Interaction Strategies Instruction is delivered using on-line discussion, the ETTB website and teleclasses. The modules have the same flow & instructional strategies, but some of the learner supports and resources (i.e. library materials or specific case instructions will be different according to the topic being delivered.) The shared values and learner interactions are the same for the modules. The teleclasses differ in the content and delivery methods, but share the values of the modules for learning. Modules
& Teleclasses: Learning Goals
Module
4: Goal Setting & Action Planning Teleclass:
Instructional
Strategies: The first teleclass is for individual introductions of the learners and the instructional concept of teambuilding. This teleclass is designed to be an initial introduction class, allowing students to begin to meet one another, establish teams for the case study and create an environment of sharing and communication. The students are directed back to the course web site for the next four weeks to work together in teams on the modules. The next four weeks are asynchronous and synchronous. The delivery of content and instruction is through the modules and the Nicenet courseware. A weekly chat session for Q&A and office hours is available to the learners for additional guidance and support by the instructor. Learners are expected to work in their groups and complete the casework together. Chat is available through Yahoo and MSN for the groups to work together, but is not a required technology. The teams are able to self-determine how they will organize and work together. The course discussion will have suggested rules for organizing, but these are meant to be suggestive and not required. Part of the instructional strategy is to use the teams to explore and experience working collaboratively and experience team work at a distance. The course uses anchored instruction through a case study. This case study will be created as a mini-website providing references and resources needed to complete the weekly assignments. At the completion the case study the teams will have a complete product. This product will demonstrate fulfillment of learning objectives. The calendar and any pertinent details about the current schedule and assignments are available on the home page. The course instructions for each module are on the top level of the module. Instructions are located in the same place for every module to make this content available and easy to access. The assignments are due each week ending on Monday, as the next assignment builds on what was previously completed in the class. Nicenet forum has areas for the teams to collaborate and work together on the projects. Likewise, the class discussion is used to review the other groups work and allow the whole class to experience the group from an outsiders view. At the end of each module is a module survey for the learners to provide input on that module. These comments will be collected and reviewed to provide feedback for the Instructional Design. The final teleclass is used to bring all of the learning back together as a group with the entire class. This teleclass is available to complete the circle of learning and provide time to bring all of the lessons learned into the live conversation with all of the learners. The final class allows the learner to explore the lessons learned and an opportunity for sharing. The teleclass will provide any closing comments and final tools and strategies that were identified during the four weeks that the students felt they needed more clarification or exploration. A final survey of the course as a whole be available to provide additional feedback and information on the course at the conclusion of the course. Certificates of completion are issued providing the learner has met the minimum required hours of participation and group collaboration. These criteria are established under the policies page of the website and learner responsibilities. The certificate is issued by Entrepreneur Strategies as evidence of successful learning. This provides evidence to an employer of learning and completion of required hours of instruction. Assessment: This course is case-based. The learning modules are anchored by the team work completed on the case. The results of the case studies and the actual team building plan to be completed in the stages of learning throughout the modules will provide evidence of learning as a team and the use of the skills of team building to complete the project. |
