Technical Requirements
This course uses the following technologies:
Internet: Web pages & Virtual Classroom. You will only need to have a web browsing program like Internet Explorer or Netscape.
Phone
- Conferencing (telebridge)
The phone conferencing requires you have a dedicated phone line (land
line i.e. with a non-portable phone) with the ability to mute your phone
while on the call. We request not using your cell phone, speaker phone
or wireless phone as these technologies pick - up background noise and
the conferencing is negatively impacted by these noises. Please see our
instructions for teleconferencing to get more details on how this
technology works.
Computer To successfully participate in this program you will need access to a computer with an Internet connection. The computer must be at least a Pentium II with a coprocessor of 500 MHz. Mac computers are fine, as most of your on-line coursework will be interacting with web pages and using our course discussion area. It is your responsibility to secure access to a computer and a web connection.
You will also be emailed access instructions and course details with the Internet site locations and the Phone - teleconferencing connection details.
Chat: Students will have the ability to meet with the instructor on-line using Chat. We will be using Yahoo Messenger for these office meetings. These are informal sessions to provide you support and answer any questions that may be helpful for everyone to learn collectively.
