This course is ideal for the manager or business owner who feels like they need some support in developing these skills. I have even taught this course to and professional in training who felt the course would be helpful for them when they stepped into their new careers.

How is the class taught?

We have designed this course to be a blended course, so you can get the live synchronous help and the asynchronous learning. Since our class is taught in the virtual learning environment we recommend some abilities in being a self-directed learner and being committed to your program. If you are unsure about your readiness for on-line courses you can take this free assessment to test your readiness. Since the class is blended, you'll have a bit more support than courses delivered without synchronized supports. Once the program starts you are essentially set for developing skills that are useable in a variety of environments including work, volunteer organizations, community affiliations and professional team building. The course uses asynchronous discussions, teleclasses, web pages and web resources to deliver the training.

What if I am a complete novice about technology?

We have weaved several technologies into this course offering, which may require a bit of patience to get to know how it all works. If you are intimidated by technology, be sure to give yourself the extra time to learn how it works and what is expected. In most cases we have provided you with tips and tools, since we anticipate that using some of this technology may be uncomfortable for some of our students in the beginning. Give yourself a break and remember it is just technology... you'll get it if you give yourself a chance. Use the link under technology to see what is required and to locate the resources on how to use our most common technologies. Other learner supports are provided to our registered students only and are in the course resources area.
