Schedule

The next Essential Team Building Skills class is scheduled for:
March 17th, 2003 through April 25, 2003

This course is conducted over six weeks. The course will open with a tele-conference of all registered learners. The next four weeks will be on-line using discussion and our course pages. The final class will be conducted using the teleconference. Learners will need to be in "attendance" for the entire course. The dates and schedule are available in the course area for registered learners.

Weekly Activities

Your main activities will be reviewing material on-line and participating in class discussion and completing the assigned course work. Check out the instructions for group discussions. A place within the official Class Website will be our discussion area. Once the course begins registered students will have access to the Internet course site. This is the location where we will be doing most of our on-line instruction.

What about attendance for an On-line class?

It is up to you to structure your time to complete the material. I am involved with you during the course, but ultimately it is your responsibility to show up and complete the work on time. You need to stay up to date with all of the course requirements to pass the course.

Time Management

Having a plan for your course can help you be successful. Schedule your course study time in advance. When I'm coaching clients who are in a self-directed program, I recommend taking time on Sunday evening and plan your week. Schedule time throughout the week for your to work on your course. Stick to your schedule and plan more time if you determine you are not able to consistently work on the course throughout the week.

Find a place where you will not be interrupted. Create the learning environment where you can work on your computer and complete your work.

Hold yourself accountable. Make sure you fulfill your schedule and complete the tasks. In order to complete the work, you must apply yourself to completing the coursework.

Participate in the group discussions daily if possible, but at least every other day. Stay active in the course by checking in regularly and reviewing the posts of the other learners and responding to the thread.

On-line courses tend to take more time than face to face courses. Make sure you account for the fact that you will be spending extra time each week to complete the assignments.

How do I contact the instructor(s)?

This course is co-taught by Becky Haugen and Rick Allen. You may contact either facilitator.

What materials are needed to participate in the course

This course is self-sufficient. There are not any textbooks or workbooks you need to purchase. All of the course materials are available on the course website.

What are the grading policies for the course?

This is a Pass/Fail course. Those who participate in weekly discussions and complete the team case studies will pass. Completion of weekly assignments will result in your fulfilling the course requirements.

Contributing to course discussions is an ongoing Assignment.

Since our course uses discussion for only four weeks you will be expected to be actively participating each week. See the discussion area for details on this technology.

Students who attend all telebridge calls, participate weekly in the discussions (actively) and complete the team projects will pass the course.

Notification of Course Grade

After the last class I will review your activity for the course and assign a grade. (I.E. Pass/No Pass.) I will notify you of the grade in an E-mail and mail your final certificate of completion to the address you have used to register for the course.

Since E-mail is not private, I need your permission to forward your grade to you personally by way of E-mail. If you don't want it E-mailed, it will be available by snail mail.
